Black women have always been a profound political force in the U.S. In 2008, over 70% of Black women who were registered to vote participated in the election. Our voices had irrefutable power. We have that same power today but must continue to wield it in service toward justice for our families and communities. Not only must we show up and show out, reminding America of what we are unwilling to accept’ we must continue to mobilize our voices over the next four years to ensure that our vote manifests as action in the halls of our government toward the whole and equitable existence of Black folks in this country. Our power is our vote and so much more!
